App Review #6: Dora Hops into Phonics

Phonics is relationships between letters and sounds in a language. For example, young kids learn the letter “B” sounds like /b/. Learning phonics is importance because it is a basic skill required for students to learn how to read and spell. They usually learn phonics in kindergarten through second grade. Unfortunately, some students with learning disabilities have difficulties with learning phonics. Thus, systematic phonics instruction should be provided to students with LD. Dora is one of the popular characters among kids. Dora Hops into Phonics application can provide opportunities young students to practice and learn phonics while having fun. It is easy to use because Dora provides them guided modeling first and then give more chances to practice. There are 5 levels of game play with a set of words appropriate for pre-schoolers.
